# Extreme Cold Probability

The extreme cold probability refers to the hazard of [environmental](/api-data-layers/climate-analytics/universal-thermal-climate-index.md) conditions can cause to the human body. This layer refers to the probability of exceeding specific UTCI (University Thermal Climate Index) values.

| Name | Threshold | Description |
| :------: | :-------------------: | :---------------------: |
| Extreme | >-40 Celsius | Extreme cold stress |
| High | >-27 and <-40 Celsius | Very strong cold stress |
| Moderate | >-13 and <-27 Celsius | Strong cold stress |
| Low | >0 and <-13 | Moderate cold stress |
